Park Physics

Today was lovely, warm Spring day so Samuel and I got out to enjoy it! We had a Mother-Son date since Allen was on alert.

We started by having lunch at McDonalds so Samuel could eat his favorite foods (chicken nuggets and fries with a fruit & yogurt parfait) while playing on the indoor playground. He chatted up a cute little lady and kept me busy by attempting to crawl UP the twisty slide. After he ate an acceptable amount of food we headed over to Holliday Park near downtown.

This happens to be my favorite park in Cheyenne since there are two great playgrounds, a large pond with a walking trail and even a vintage Big Boy Train Engine on display. It's a toddler's dream come true!

We spent some time "talking" to the ducks and geese in the pond. Samuel would listen to them honk and quack then mimic their sounds. He really wanted to climb right in the pond and join them for a swim so I encouraged him to move on to the playground where he could swing and slide.

To my surprise he wasn't very interested in the fun equipment. He just wanted to play with all the rocks! First he piled them. Then he pushed them through the slots on the stairs. He picked them up and let them fall through his hands. And, of course, he tried throwing them. Mommy had to strongly dissuade the last activity, especially around other children. He even liked to lay down on the rocks and roll around. What a silly boy I have!
